How can I book a holiday home in Andalusia?
Book easily online through our website: choose your holiday home, select your dates under ‘see availability’ and follow the steps to reserve.
Do I have to pay in full when booking?
When you book we ask for a deposit. The remaining amount is due no later than 8 weeks before arrival. You will find all the details during the booking process.
Can I cancel or change my reservation?
Cancelling or changing is possible within the conditions you receive with your booking. See our terms and conditions for more information. If you unexpectedly have to cancel, always contact us. We recommend taking out travel and cancellation insurance.
Do I also have to pay a security deposit?
Yes, the deposit is paid with the final payment. We refund the deposit to your bank account within 5 days after your stay.
How far in advance can I book a holiday home?
Most holiday homes can be booked up to 1.5 years ahead. Is a property’s calendar still closed? Feel free to contact us — we can often arrange availability for you anyway.
Accommodation & facilities
Can I add a cot or high chair to my booking?
Yes, at most properties you can add a cot and/or high chair via the booking form. This creates an extra sleeping place in your accommodation. Please note: this option is only available if you travel with a baby up to 3 years old.
How do you handle my data?
At Take a Holiday in Spain we take your privacy and security very seriously. All personal data you leave with us is processed and stored securely in line with applicable privacy law. We use your data solely to handle your booking, to communicate about your stay and for any extra services you ordered. We do not share your data with third parties, except where necessary to carry out your reservation, such as with the accommodation or trusted payment and car-rental partners. Are the holiday homes suitable for families with children?
Yes, many of our holiday homes have private pools, spacious terraces and child-friendly facilities. The apartments often have a shared pool and playground.
Are pets allowed?
Pets are welcome at some properties. This is always indicated in the property details.
Do the holiday homes have WiFi?
Yes, all our holiday homes have free WiFi. On arrival you can connect very easily through our web app.
Do the holiday homes have air conditioning?
Most of our holiday homes have air conditioning. This is indicated on each property’s detail page.
Are bed linen, towels and final cleaning included?
Yes, at Take a Holiday in Spain we like to keep things transparent. That is why bed linen and final cleaning are included in the total price. For stays of fewer than 7 nights a small surcharge for final cleaning may apply. You will always see it directly in the cost overview of your reservation.
Is there a barbecue or outdoor kitchen?
On each property’s detail page you can see whether these facilities are available.
Is the house cleaned during my stay?
No, during your stay you enjoy full privacy. Only the pool, if there is one, is serviced by someone who comes by. Would you like an interim cleaning? You can easily add this via our web app.
Can I order extra services?
Yes, after your reservation you get access to our web app, where you can order extra services to make your holiday complete. Think of a welcome pack, a stocked fridge, a massage at your holiday home and much more. That way you make your stay exactly to your liking.

Which payment methods are available?
You can pay with your bank or credit card, iDEAL, Bancontact, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Can I pay securely on your website?
Yes, payments on our website are secure and are handled via Stripe, one of the largest and most trusted payment providers in the world.

Which beaches are near the holiday homes?
The Costa del Sol has wonderful beaches, from quiet coves to lively sandy beaches. Some popular ones are Playa de Burriana, Playa de Nerja and Playa de Maro, but the beaches of Torremolinos, Torre del Mar and Marbella are also perfect for a pleasant day by the sea. Every property has a beach within 10–30 minutes.
Can I take day trips from the homes to cities like Málaga or Granada?
Absolutely! From the Costa del Sol you can take day trips to Málaga, Granada, Córdoba and other cultural cities. By car you reach them in 40 minutes to 2 hours and can fully enjoy culture, history and gastronomy.
What are some nice activities in the region?
There are plenty of activities in the region: hiking in the Sierra de Tejeda, cycling through the mountains, water sports on the coast, dolphin spotting on a catamaran, wine tastings at local bodegas and discovering authentic white villages such as Frigiliana, Mijas and Cómpeta. The region has 3 water parks, a Sealife and a zoo.
How far is the nearest airport?
Most homes are about a 20–60 minute drive from Málaga Airport, depending on the exact location of the holiday home.
Are there medical facilities nearby?
Yes, there are local health centres, pharmacies and hospitals in the larger villages and towns. In an emergency you can always call 112 directly.
Are there supermarkets and restaurants nearby?
Yes, most holiday homes are a short distance from supermarkets, local markets and pleasant restaurants. So you can easily shop for groceries or enjoy Andalusian cuisine.
Car rental – Málaga airport
Do I need a car during my holiday?
We definitely recommend a car, as many holiday homes in Andalusia are spread out. With a car you can easily discover beaches, villages and sights. You will find that having a car enriches your holiday and gives you much more freedom during your stay.
Can I rent a car through Take a Holiday in Spain?
Certainly! Through our website you can rent a car safely and reliably with many advantages. Your car is all-risk insured, you pay no deposit and you drive with unlimited mileage.

Many car-rental companies sell guests unnecessary extras on the spot or make returning the car difficult. We work with one of the largest rental companies at Málaga Airport. When do I pay for my rental car?
You only pay for your rental car on arrival in Spain. It is wise to reserve a rental car right after booking your accommodation. Please note that a rental car is only definitively reserved once you have received a confirmation by email.

What should I do in an emergency during my stay?
In an emergency, call 112 in Spain. For less serious situations or help you can always call us on +31 611 59 2007. We are ready to help you during your stay.
What happens if something breaks during my stay?
Something can always break during your stay in one of our properties. Did the damage occur through your own doing? Then fill in our damage report form and report any damage or defect directly to your host. That way we can act quickly and keep your stay running smoothly.
Are the pools private or shared?
We have different accommodation types, with a private pool or a shared pool. This is always clearly indicated on the property detail pages, so you know exactly what to expect.
What is the weather like in southern Spain?
Southern Spain, and especially the Andalusia region, is known for its sun-drenched climate. For most of the year the weather is pleasantly warm, with long summers and mild winters. In summer temperatures easily rise above 30°C, while nights are often much more pleasant at around 18–22°C. Even in April, May, September and October it usually stays sunny and dry — perfect for beach days, walks through the picturesque villages or discovering the beautiful nature and coastline. Thanks to the many hours of sunshine and moderate humidity, the climate feels very comfortable. In short: if you love sun, sea and a warm holiday, southern Spain is the place for you!
