Together with my daughter Sienna (6), we took a leap of faith at the end of 2024 and moved to Spain. After exploring various regions, cities and villages, we fell in love with the Axarquía region – and especially with Vélez-Málaga.
This historic yet vibrant city offers us everything we need. With plenty of local events, a charming centre full of shops within walking distance, and the beach of Torre del Mar just 10 minutes away, Vélez-Málaga is the perfect blend of culture and coast.
After viewing several houses, I came across our (unique) home in the historic centre, right next to the famous ‘Fortaleza’. What makes this place so special is that our house actually consists of two separate homes, each with its own entrance and living space. That’s how the dream of La Casa Mirador was born – and soon became reality. With love and care, I’ve created a charming boutique guesthouse here, with fantastic views over the city, the mountains, and the sea in the distance!
